Thought I'd better eek one last post in before the new year and share some of our Family Day photos from the Space Needle along with some Christmas pictures. For our 6th Forever Family Day, we again headed to the Space Needle for a meal. The food, we have decided, is not worth the price, so next year we may just buy tickets up to the observation deck for the view and some Starbucks. That was the plan anyway until the dessert came out, floating on a cloud. I'm not sure if next year we'll be able to skip the meal because Esther thought it was the best dessert ever!

The Best Dessert Ever....or maybe Best Presentation of Ice Cream Ever! (It was one scoop of ice cream with some chocolate sauce, a cookie and a strawberry) |

Esther thought it tasted extra yummy. |
Opening presents was greatly anticipated and she was quick to point out that she had the most presents under the tree. She got pretty good at shaking the presents and making good guesses as to what each one was. "This one is legoes!" Grandpa Neil and Grandma Suzi's presents had her stumped, though. And there was no way she could have guessed what was in the first one: two potatoes. She looked at us and then said, "This is a horrible present!" She soldiered on and opened the next presents, and one of the other gifts was a potato clock. After we explained that the clock used the potatoes as batteries, she decided maybe those two weren't that horrible a gift after all. Ever since then the potato clock has been next to her on her bed.
She was very impressed with Santa this year. Not only did the big guy come through and get her the Mega T-Rex she wanted but somehow he knew how much she wanted the stuffed quail that made it's bird call when you press it. We saw it at the Space Needle gift shop but she decided to go for a plastic slinky instead and then lamented her choice all the drive home. Good job Santa!
